Linen is one of the oldest fabrics in the world 🌏
People in various parts of the world began weaving linen at least several thousand years ago!
Next time you wear your favourite linen clothing piece - remember, that it has several thousand years of legacy! Isn't that amazing? 
Since linen is my favourite fabric and it never stops to amuse me, I thought I will share some interesting facts about linen that you didn't know!

Flax plant

❤️ Did you know that linen is biodegradable and sustainable?

Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. Flax plan is low maintenance and can grow in poor soil. Linen fabric natural colours include ivory, ecru, tan and grey. Also, every part of the flax plant can be used to create a worthwhile product, therefore nothing is wasted! 


❤️ ❤️ Did you know that a standard linen shirt uses 6,4 litres of water during it's life time?

However, standard cotton shirt uses 2700 litres based on the European Confederation of Linen and Hemp. What a difference, right? So linen is much more eco friendly to our lovely planet Earth. 


❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Did you know that largest amount of linen comes from Europe?

Linen that we use is high quality Lithuanian linen. Lithuania is located in Baltic sea 🌊 region of Europe. 


❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Did you know that linen is being considered to be luxury fabric?

Due to time it takes to produce linen yard and the necessary manual processes linen has become a higher priced commodity nowadays.

We are so used to consuming fast fashion products that it becomes difficult to image that the fabric gets better not worse with every wash. Due to amazing linen properties it is true! Therefore, by using linen you are a conscious customer and contribute to a better world.
